Privacy Policy
1. Information We Collect
When you use our application, we may collect the following specific information to provide, manage, and secure our multi-tenant point-of-sale services:
- Profile & Account Data: Name, email address, phone number, and account access credentials.
- Transactional Data: Transaction and billing records, including invoices, payment amounts, payment methods, inventory movements, and sales histories. We do not store full payment card numbers unless explicitly stated by a supported payment processing service.
- Terminal & Session Identifiers: To link individual transactions to the correct terminal hardware and secure active sessions, we generate a unique application installation identifier to help secure account access, maintain device registrations, associate transactions with the correct business terminal, and troubleshoot service issues. We may also collect limited device information such as device type, operating system version, and hardware model to ensure compatibility, security, and reliable operation of the application. This information is not used for advertising, profiling, or cross-application tracking.
- Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking: We do not use advertising networks, behavioral profiling systems, cross-application tracking technologies, or third-party analytics services that track users across apps, websites, or services. We do not sell personal information to advertisers or data brokers.
Device Permissions & Functional Justification:
To interface with point-of-sale hardware and manage checkout flows, our application requests access to specific device features. We process this access strictly to execute core app features:
- Camera & Media Access: Camera access is used to scan product barcodes and other supported codes for inventory management and checkout operations. Photo and media access is used only when you choose to upload, manage, or assign images to products, business profiles, or other records within the application.
- Bluetooth & Location Permissions: Bluetooth access is used to discover, pair with, and communicate with supported receipt printers, label printers, and other point-of-sale peripherals. Certain operating systems may require additional device permissions to enable nearby device discovery and connectivity features. We do not collect, store, monitor, or track your geographic location, location history, or movement patterns.
- USB Connections: Used strictly to interface and stream raw print data to connected hardware receipt printers.
- Optional Business Identifiers (GSTIN & Licenses): If you choose to display tax or regulatory details on your invoices, you may optionally input business identifiers such as a GSTIN, business license numbers, or registration data. This information is handled strictly as user-entered text settings for receipt customization and profile completion; we do not independently verify, look up, or utilize these records beyond rendering them on your generated point-of-sale documents.
- Optional Customer Contacts: Contact access is optional and is only used when you explicitly choose to import customer information from your device's address book or export customer records to your device's native contacts application. We do not continuously access, analyze, sell, or share your contact data.
2. How We Use Your Information
- We process your data strictly to execute core point-of-sale features, specifically to:
- Provide, operate, and sync your inventory and checkout transaction logs.
- Verify account identity to secure active business terminal login sessions.
- Generate and deliver transaction receipts and invoices for your customers.
- Comply with all applicable financial, accounting, and regional tax reporting obligations.
3. Third-party Services
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, or user behavioral tracking services. Your system usage remains private.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or business transaction data to advertising networks. We may transfer relevant data to trusted service providers strictly to maintain our cloud infrastructure (such as cloud hosting providers, database providers, payment processors, infrastructure providers, and other service providers that assist us in operating, securing, and maintaining the application) or to execute core point-of-sale actions you initiate (such as processing terminal card payments). All service providers are bound to strict confidentiality contracts and are prohibited from using your data for any unauthorized purposes.
5. Data Security
We are committed to protecting your business data and employ standard best practices to safeguard your information. All communication between the Dawr application and our backend database servers is encrypted in transit using industry-standard encryption technologies, including HTTPS and TLS, to protect data transmitted between your device and our systems.
We restrict system access internally to protect customer records from unauthorized disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, please be aware that no method of electronic transmission over wireless networks or cloud storage infrastructure is entirely flawless, and we cannot guarantee absolute, impenetrable security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account profile and point-of-sale data for as long as your Dawr business account remains active to ensure continuous access to your sales logs, inventory tracking, and invoice history. We also retain transaction metadata as required to comply with statutory financial auditing and tax reporting laws. When data is no longer operationally required or when an account deletion process is fully finalized, information is securely scrubbed from our live database servers or permanently anonymized. Backup copies may remain in secure backup systems for a limited period before being automatically overwritten or permanently deleted.
7. Account and Data Deletion
Dawr provides users with full control over their business and personal records. If you wish to permanently close your account and remove your data from our systems, you may request deletion through any of the following channels:
- In-App Deletion: Navigate to the bottom navigation bar and tap the Menu icon (Hamburger icon), select Profile, and tap the Delete Account button located at the bottom of your profile settings view.
- Direct Support Email: Submit a formal account closure request from your registered email address directly to contact@dawr.in.
Upon initiating or requesting deletion, your active user profile, tenant configurations, and operational store records will be securely scrubbed from our live database servers within 30 days. Certain records may be retained only to the extent required by applicable legal, accounting, tax, or regulatory obligations. Any retained records will no longer be associated with your active account and will be preserved in an anonymized or otherwise restricted form where reasonably practicable. Historical transaction ledger lines may also be retained in an anonymized, unlinked archive format exclusively to satisfy statutory financial auditing and regional tax compliance requirements.
8. Your Rights and Data Control
Regardless of your location, Dawr respects your right to control your business records and personal data. You maintain the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about your business account.
- Request corrections or updates to inaccurate or outdated profile information.
- Request the complete restriction, erasure, or deletion of your records (subject to the provisions outlined in Section 7).
To exercise any of these operational privacy rights, please contact us directly at contact@dawr.in. We respond to all valid verification and data management requests within a reasonable standard business timeframe.
Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Our point-of-sale services are strictly designed for commercial business operations and are not directed to, marketed to, or intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly or intentionally collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has inadvertently accessed our service or provided personal identifiers to our database, please contact us immediately at contact@dawr.in, and we will permanently purge the information from our systems.
9. Legal Basis and Purpose of Processing
We process information only as necessary to provide and secure the services requested by users, fulfill contractual obligations, comply with applicable legal requirements, maintain accurate business records, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the reliability and security of the application.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect operational, hardware integration, or regulatory changes. Material adjustments will be explicitly communicated via a prominent notice inside the application or sent directly to your registered email address.
